To your question, I honestly haven’t used DLPack yet so I cannot say anything about that whether it handles the allocation in the same way as NumPy does. Sorry if I couldn’t be more helpful here, but maybe somebody else have used it and can elaborate on this? That’d be awesome and I am also curious now.
